Thanks for Walking!

Last Saturday, it was great to see more than 200 people gathered downtown at Phoenix Park to join in our Walk for Warmth event. Some walked a mile and others walked two miles, but everyone joined in the fun to raise money to help prevent homelessness.

Proceeds from the event exceeded $12,000, and every dollar will be used to help families stay in their home with their utilities turned on. If you didn't get the chance to give yet, you can still send your check made payable to Lexington Rescue Mission with a notation about Walk for Warmth on the memo line.

Please pray for those in our community who are experiencing a hard time financially. Perhaps they have lost their job, had their hours reduced, or had to take a lower-paying job. These families may be under a great deal of stress just trying to make ends meet. Pray that they would place their hope in the Lord who is the giver of life and of all good things.

If you know someone personally who is going through a tough time, just take an opportunity to ask them if you can pray specifically for and with them. By doing so, you will reflect God's love through your life into theirs.
