While we always have a need for food service volunteers and thrift store volunteers, we also have an immediate need in the following areas:
- Volunteers are needed to serve as our mission advocates to their local churches. Advocates take responsibility to communicate various opportunities for service at the mission to their congregational members.
- A "handy man" is needed to make small improvements or repairs throughout the mission's four locations.
- A data entry volunteer is needed either on a regular weekly basis or on an as-needed.
- Individuals and teams are needed to volunteer as walkers at our annual Walk For Warmth event to be held on Saturday, February 27. Last year, the event helped prevent homelessness by raising nearly $11,000 for emergency rent and utility assistance for families facing possible eviction.
- This spring, volunteers are needed to help tend to our community garden. Produce raised from the garden is used to help prepare free meals to the hungry and may also be given directly to people with little access to fresh produce.
